WORKSHOP: Watercolor Basics @ Harlin Museum; Lower Level, Classroom Space
May 4 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Learn the art of watercolor! 

This workshop’s emphasis will be on the basics of painting with watercolors, including special techniques, watercolor washes, and painting with detail. This class is a must for the beginner. You will learn a lot of tricks that will keep you from becoming frustrated with a challenging medium that sometimes has a will of its own. This will be a fun workshop! The first day will lay the foundation of skills that students will need for the second day of instruction.

VENUE:  Harlin Museum; Lower Level, Classroom Space.

LUNCH/REFRESHMENTS: Drinking water will be provided. Students may bring lunch, snacks, or other beverages as they please.

INSTRUCTOR:  Gladys Morris

WORKSHOP HOURS: Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4 pm, each day

SUBJECT:

Watercolor painting; the instructor will demonstrate the following:

Introduction to watercolor paint, paper, and brushes

Preparation of tools & other supplies to have on hand

Layout and planning of your watercolor artwork

Masking (Protecting your white)

Basics of painting with watercolors

Watercolor washes and backgrounds

How to control the water in watercolor painting

Painting details with watercolors

Negative painting

 COST:

Register and pay in advance: $40.00 per person  /  Register & pay the day of workshop:  $50.00 per person

SUPPLIES:

All painting materials will be provided; Students are asked to bring their own hair dryers

Come take instruction from professional artist, Lee Copen, on how to paint the Bold Colors of Fall in this watercolor workshop at the Harlin Museum, Saturday, October 5th from 12 pm – 4 pm. Cost for the workshop is $30/ person; cash or check only and students may pay at the door on the day of the workshop.
