ENTRY DATE: 2023 Fiber & Textile Arts Competition Show
Entries will determine the final divisions and categories. Competition categories include two divisions: Adult (18+) and Youth (-17). Artists may enter any type of fiber craft or textile creation, including, but not limited to: quilts/quilt art, afghans, crocheted &/or knitted articles, embroidered items, hand-woven or machine-woven articles, felted wool projects, lacework, tatting, applique, handmade apparel from a pattern or personal design, beaded items, woven rope, canvas work (needlepoint, petit pointe, etc.), macramé, rugs, etc.
Guidelines: Any art or craft item that utilizes fiber or textile components as part of the piece is eligible. All pieces must be the work of the artist entering the competition. Entries must not have been previously entered in a Harlin Museum Competition Show. All competition entries will be evaluated with a score of 25% for general appearance, 50% for construction, and 25% for artistic design.
All entries that need special support or hangers to display the item must have said support accompanying the entry. All hangers and display supports will be returned to their owners at the conclusion of the show.
Entrants may enter up to five competition pieces total; entrants may only win two awards per category, but, each entrant may win as many awards in multiple categories. Competition pieces will be released for pickup on Monday, February 6th, 2022, and must be picked up from the museum within the following week, or possession of the item will be forfeited to the museum. Entrants must make arrangements for pickup with staff prior to the pickup date.
